Traveling by air and want your Halo? No problem! You'll be happy to know all Halo Products are permitted as carry-on luggage.
A coworker of mine wasn't able to start her car after work. Unfortunately, she didn't have jumper cables, and had to rely on someone to come along who did. It was then, that I decided to order the Bolt from QVC. Sure enough, a few short weeks ago, she needed a jump, but this time, I had the Bolt. I have NEVER jumped a car before in my life! I was nervous, as to whether or not it would work as they said. I hooked it up as the instructions said, and with just one turn of the key, IT STARTED!!!!! What a thrill!!!
The only problem that I have, is that I was carrying the charging plug in my purse, and I just noticed today, that the cord is breaking away from the plug. How do I go about getting another one?
We bought one from QVC and gave to our 20 year old daughter ( college student) . Today February 6th was the day she needed it! She used it on the airplane to watch movies from Tennessee to California, and then back over Christmas break for her tablet. Today was the real test though. She drives a Mustang and it wouldn't start. After a minute of panic she tried the Halo and it started right up! We paid around 120 for ours though, and I see these are 100 bucks more. I would use other power boxes or cables before paying this much but for the price we paid ,we would definitely purchase more for friends and family. Way to go Halo! ☺
I bought my wife and myself one of these for Christmas. I used it 2weeka after I charged it on neighbors truck after a snow storm. Started right up. Used it on mine a couple of times. Gotta love New England cold mornings! Bolt performed perfectly! I work for AAA and my bosses want to start buying these! Just remember to clean corrosion off your battery terminals with vinegar if it doesn't start when you use it. Corrosion is an insulator, so it blocks the connection on your battery terminals. Just some extra info for everyone to keep in mind!!!
My mom just called saying she was stuck in town because her car wouldn't start. Headed over with the Halo Bolt. Nothing from the starter but the headlights and power door locks still worked so the battery wasn't doornail dead, but it was definitely "mostly dead" (think Billy Crystal's Miracle Max from Princess Bride). We read the instructions one time, hooked it up to the battery and the car started immediately! Very glad we purchased this from QVC! Will be watching for them to come back to QVC to buy more and put one in each of our vehicles.
I am very impressed I jump started a diesel Bobcat this morning that was dead spun it right over and started it worked awesome
I just successfully used the HALO Bolt 3X in a row to charge my 49 CC moped. (clearly I need a new battery) My husband said that using a car to jump it would be too much power so I was thankful I had the HALO with me. It is so easy to use, anyone can do it. I think anyone who has a car, motorcycle or moped should have a HALO with them in case of emergency.
I got mine from QVC for Christmas and just needed it as our power has been out after severe storms in Tallahassee, FL. The charging is EXCELLENT! Unfortunately, the LED flood light NEVER WORKED even with a full charge. I can't even send it back to QVC in exchange for a new one because they're sold out. So I paid for a fully-functioning Halo Bolt and am stuck with a partially-functioning one. NOT FAIR!!!
Mine came from QVC. When I received it and charged it, the outlet and charging station worked, but the light did not. Something is wrong with the button. If you keep pushing the button for about a minute it finally makes a connection and turns on. Then it may or may not turn off. The car jumpers did not work either. Called QVC to return and they had no stock left to replace my defective unit. It's a shame as the overall concept is fantastic if mine actually functioned properly.
I purchased this unit from QVC in November of 2016, charged it and put it in my vehicle. I finally got the chance to use in on January 13, 2017. I walked out of my work to discover a co-worker waiting with the hood of her vehicle open, she had a dead battery. Being blocked in, it would be difficult to get the vehicle jumped with the average jumper cables that people buy (Too Short). I hooked up the Bolt (After figuring out how to use it.) and it started the V-8 engine without issue. After this the bolt still had a full charge! As far as the operation goes, it's simple...one thing to note is when you are jumping a car you DO NOT power the Bolt ON, you only press the button near the Jumper Cable connection to turn the jump function on, that was the only issue that I had. Once I re-read the instructions, it worked flawlessly. I'm planning on buying 3 more over time for family members!
I ordered 4 of these from QVC to give as Christmas gifts. One was defective (the flashlight didn't work and would only charge a phone for 5 minutes before shutting down) so I mailed it back to QVC for a replacement but since they are now out of stock I guess my dad doesn't get a Christmas present after all, or I don't get to keep the one I bought for myself.
The other 3 are great. I used mine to jump someone's car the first week I had it.
I bought this from QVC last November. The charging port was blocked by the plastic chassis. QVC could not replace it. I wish Halo had provided QVC with functional Bolts and enough extras to replace the obviously defective unit I received.
I was so impressed that I went and bought 3 more fore my entire family. Has never let any of us down! My kids love it with their side by sides and ATV.
HOW MUCH LONGER BEFORE YOU HAVE MORE OF THESE????
I got this for Christmas. At New Year's I drove 1 1/2 hrs to a friend and charged my phone on the way using the AC portion of the Halo bolt. Yesterday, Jan 9, I went to take my cat to the vet and car battery was dead. The Halo worked perfectly and in 5 minutes I was on my way. At lunch the car died again. Halo (I am a pro now) worked again. A life saver! (my cat's).
A friend loaned her brand new Halo Bolt 58830 to me when my car battery was dying on me, and, for 12 days in sub freezing weather it started my Jeep in a split second. When I plugged it in to top off the charge to return it to her, it was only down one bar and required 15 minutes to fill back up. I will own one of these and believe every single person with power needs should also. I have NEVER been this impressed.
Halo can't hold a charge
I bought one for my dad than for myself than my son and my daughter in law. what else can I say.
Got this for Christmas and had an old car I had to turn into the insurance company because they totaled it out(office was not open till the 27th). Christmas night I turned on the ignition but did not start the car and turned on the lights and left it that way for about 38 hours. Went out and the battery was dead. Hooked up the Halo pushed the button waited 10 seconds and the car started right up. Was very shocked, did not think it would work. I am telling everyone they need one of these.
All seems to be working correctly on my unit. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. I haven't jumped anything yet but it does great job charging my I Phone and other portable products.
Love having the peace of mind that I have help if I'm having batterie issues..It looks like a rugged piece of equipment that will do well for me or some else that could need help
thanks for a great product looking to buy a second one for my daughter..Happy New Year..
I bought my unit from QVC. Charged it up overnight and started my car. I put the unit away inside my home and tried to use it 1 week later and it's completely dead. Recharged it again and once again good for 1 use and dead in less than a week. Also, after its charged, the light on the side keeps blinking on and off which I'm sure is draining the battery. I tried to turn the light off but it simply keeps blinkin . thanks goodness I didn't rely on this thing for an emergency.
I purchased my HALO Bolt ACDC from QVC and so far it's my favorite device. I use it primarily at the barn when I'm doing chores especially at night. I "pick" Rena's paddock twice a day, at night is the great adventure and trying to search for her little poos is difficult with poor lighting and know having the ability to take my plug work light outside with my Bolt ACDC is outstanding! I can see this being an advantage if we've got a horse down where there's no lighting, I use this to plug in my percolator to heat water for Renas grain and mash. I have used to add more lighting to difficult areas if I'm checking for injuries or checking her legs. Of course then there's the obvious, charging my cell phone, my tablets, plug in my heating pad, my laptop, and the added bonus is the spotlight! Pretty bright for such a small "bulb", only question is will the light ever stop working? Haven't used the Bolt yet to start a vehicle but I'm not that concerned about not working considering everything else functions 100%. My only wishes are this: covers for the USB inputs and the ACDC input. Wish the bag was more durable, water resistant, more like a nylon hard case used for external hard drives since the bag is flimsy, not water resistant, and doesn't actually protect the bolt from damage or moisture.
